Sponsorship
Promoting your business positively is a task for any business owner. Good will and corporate sponsorships are recognised tactics for improving the image of your company, because customers associate it directly with charity. If an organisation has not yet done business with your company, they automatically have a higher impression of you because of the association.
A P Robinson & Co's Marketing Manager, Lizzy Dale advices that companies of any size should use sponsorships in conjunction with new business, service or product launches to heighten the exposure of news and add credibility to the organisation.
"Every business loves to have positive PR in their target media. Positive publicity helps heighten the awareness of your companies’ products and services. Sponsoring targeted events also increases your opportunity of receiving media coverage and is a significant way of distinguishing yourself from your competitors."
"If you can establish high quality relationships with events and act on those relationships repeatedly, your name will be associated with that event. You will develop a strong image within your select community, and be the industry leader that members call on regularly."
"Over this past year, A P Robinson & Co opened a new office in Scunthorpe. As part of the celebration, we sponsored a football team in the local area. To our delight, the under 10’s team, AP Frod Colts came runner up in the area cup and won the league last season, which bodes well for their success this season sporting our branded shirts. In conjunction, we sponsored the Star Ball in May hosted by the charity When You Wish upon a Star, which nine Emmerdale celebrities attended."
"More recently, we sponsored a float at the Cleethorpes Carnival to support a number of our clients in celebration of our Relationship Manager, Sarah Clark’s ten year anniversary at the firm. Our charity work is also ongoing throughout the year to donate our time, funds and/or services to good causes within the community."
"Sponsorship is the fastest growing form of marketing in the UK. With this in mind, local businesses can find unlimited opportunities to broaden their competitive advantage by increasing their credibility, image and prestige in sponsoring events. It is a powerful complement to other marketing programs, in addition to having a dramatic influence on customer relations."
